Buyers were poised and went after any offerings the eastern mills had that mirrored last Friday’s numbers in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. They were confident that the tide was changing on prices, and it was better to have something to sell than not. Those mills sold quickly leaving higher priced availabilities from other mills for buyers to source the growing demand evident throughout the day. The volume of orders transacted by day’s end, although not as much as was expected still made for a good start to the new week.
