Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The momentum continued to ramp up in the lumber market yesterday, eclipsing the previous day’s sales. Good demand on a wide variety of products throughout the country enabled the increased volume of orders. The eastern mills were able to sell without needing to concede on price. Buyers were kept busy staying in step to what the mills had, often frustrated with the lack of available supply being shown them. The mills were more interested in selling and shipping what they had now and not overextending themselves on selling too far ahead, confident that higher prices lie ahead.
