It was a lethargic start to the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Activity picked up in the afternoon, but the day’s tally was less than what they had been in the previous days this week. Higher mill asking prices seemed to put a damper on new orders. Clients were content with what they had recently bought and wanted to see how the market would shake out in the near term before buying more. Anticipation that there would be more production forthcoming from the mills clouded mindsets along with the amount of European lumber at various ports throughout the country.

sounds like the market is still trying to find its footing

We believe it has. Supply will be the driving force against the steady demand in the market!
