Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Higher mill asking prices and uncertainty about the market helped to hinder activity and sales for the eastern spruce mills in the lumber market on Friday. Demand was prevalent but clients were more attentive to any cheap leftover offerings from them that could be found instead of paying higher for more. Overall though the mills enjoyed a very good week of sales enabling them to raise and sell at higher prices on many items as the week progressed. The mills also kept their order files tight not wanting to oversell in the face of growing demand that they felt. This ended up limiting supply in the market on Friday.
