The high volume of orders seen last Thursday on did not diminish in the eastern spruce lumber marker on Friday. Clients were willing to commit to longer term deliveries even at higher prices. They were confident in the value of doing so if there were mills and distributors willing to do so. Most mills though were interested in selling only what they had on the ground. Forthcoming production disruptions both at eastern and western mills also played into buyer’s buying philosophies creating uncertainty as to what supply will be in the coming months.
