Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity was hectic from the start in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was very strong, but buyers had a lot of difficulty sourcing from eastern the mills what was needed. Clients were poised to buy anything that was available close to Friday’s published numbers but found little and were vastly disappointed. The mills did not have or had sold quickly what they did have and were reluctant to sell more without moving prices considerably higher. The mills sold very well last week limiting what they could sell to start this week. Product availabilities were sporadic frustrating buyers.
