Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was not a bad start to the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Good demand fed steady activity and kept traders on their toes trying to snag potential orders. Results were respectable. Buyers did their homework looking to see what the mills had. There were disappointed as many eastern mills did not have many of the items they needed. With prices flat expectations were that many more items would become available. But yesterday this was not the case. Not only did the higher grades lack availability but the lack of supply in many of the low-grade items was pronounced.
