Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Prices fell on a wide range of products last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Many eastern mills were unable to sell their weekly production for the second week in a row leading to a softness in prices. Mill order files dissipated putting them back into the market and looking for orders. Traders also turned aggressive in their quotes trying to stay one step ahead of the mills. Clients held off some truckload purchases, replenishing the needed units instead from the reloads. Distributors did not waste time in adjusting their prices wanting to grab whatever business that was available in the market.
