Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Although sales were slightly less in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday, there was a better tone and increased confidence among traders. Demand was strong on a wide range of products and over a large geographic area. Needs were apparent with a desire to do something about it. Independent dealers were anxious to step in and cover themselves. The market in their estimation was primed to buy some inexpensive lumber and panels. The market with its current lower prices is inviting concerns to assess their inventories and to plan for spring, which is less than thirty days away.
