Bill's Corner- AN Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a healthy start to the week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Although activity was slow to begin, demand picked up intensity in the afternoon. Buyers did not lack choices from the eastern mills. The question was at what level could the business be had? Who was vulnerable to entertain the firm offers needed to get the orders? Some mills were aggressive with their initial quotes, but would they go lower? Dealers were patient with their decisions hoping for the impatience of traders to take chances. Regardless the market was shaping up to have a solid week of business, time will tell.
