There was a let up of sales in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. A lack of items from the mills helped slow sales. A reversal of prices, pushing higher on some items, also deterred transactions. Although the volume of orders was down for the day, activity and demand were still quite prevalent in the market. Dealers searched for the lower priced offerings that pervaded the market last week, finding little to none. It also seemed that dealers were busier than they were earlier in the month putting buyers on point to find product that was not overpriced in their estimation.
