Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a steady grind in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Orders did not come easy; they were hard fought. Firm offers were the name of the game especially in the back-to-back world with the mills. Some eastern mills had specific items they wanted to move, and others did what they could with what they had available. Prices were subject to the situations that arose. The mills listened and traded on some things yet stood firm on others. Much depended on what was being traded, when it was shipping and how it was going to get there. There were opportunities but far fewer than most expected.
