Although it was a quieter end for sales in the eastern spruce lumber market on Friday, there were late in the day orders that boosted trader sentiment of the market. Overall business for the week was on par for the month. Demand and activity were consistent with nothing newsworthy that jolted the market although the mills, both east and west, continued to lower production schedules. Prices were firm to higher on 2x4 and 2x6 but weaker on 2x8 and 2x10. There were spot accumulations from eastern mills on some items that offered opportunities at discounted prices, but they were specific in nature.
