Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was continued good business and activity in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. More dealers were convinced that waiting to buy potential needs would be a mistake. With prices somewhat stable and the idea that supply may tighten over the next several weeks helped influence them to making commitments. Having the option for mill direct shipments allows for choices and better pricing, which do not exist when the market is hot, and buyers are chasing the mills for product. Still, many were not swayed and kept to maintaining inventory and replacing product only when warranted.
