It was another solid day of orders in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The mills got a fair share and distributors theirs. The market was conflicted though. It was busy and it was quiet. Orders were had at asking prices and lost by cheap numbers. It seemed that either wholesalers were continuing to take chances or distributors were peeling off inventory. It was difficult to decipher, but distractions they were, nonetheless. It kept traders off balance in their quest to convince clients the idea that considering anticipated supply, prices will only increase as demand strengthens.
