Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Last week ended with good activity and a slew of orders for the mills and distributors in the eastern spruce lumber market. Buyers had their work cut out for them to find items to trade with on Friday as availability was sparse from the mills. Prices had appreciated slightly on several items combating an uncertain tone seen in the market. Not all dealers were convinced that prices would continue to appreciate and kept their additional purchases in check, despite strong demand echoed in the marketplace. The Montreal Wood Convention convenes tomorrow keeping many decision makers away from the market most of this week.
