Although sales were off on Friday, the overall week was very good in the eastern spruce lumber market. Dealers were busier. They filled in more often, with some confident to buy additional product ahead. Eastern mills accommodated with taking business for later shipment, but most were inclined to sell what they had on the ground, while adjusting prices to secure the orders. They took small counters on the accumulations they had but were firm on the products that were in demand. Stud items drew much of the attention in the market with dimension items less so.
