It was back to a grind in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Orders did not come easy, and volume was off. Dealers had what they needed for the moment. With random dimension prices down, hesitation set in. There were still items that were harder to source and quickly get such as stud products. Prices remained stable on these items. Low grade sales continued to sparkle but the spread between it and the higher grades narrowed, sometimes at the same or lower price depending on the geographic location. This kept sales on low grade in check unless a difference justified a purchase.
