Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand was strong yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market, but sales were lite. Part of the reason for the lack of orders was due to many Canadian mills being closed, observing Victoria Day throughout Canada. The lack of participants had buyers hesitating, knowing there will be more choices available in the market today. Also, dealers do not have the urgency to buy, knowing they can get what is needed in quick fashion, although it seemed that some were playing things too close to the vest on caring for some of those commitments.
