Last week ended on a positive note in the eastern spruce lumber market. Several orders were transacted on Friday both to the mills and to distributors. Lower prices and quick shipments were the keys for the orders gained. The overall work shortened week did see good activity and sales. The eastern mills did struggle to sell their production, enabling opportunities and giving reason for buyers to step in. Distributors were also motivated to sell, focusing on stagnate and slower moving items. What was encouraging to traders was that many of their clients have commitments and see better business ahead.
