Although it was a slower day for sales last Friday in the eastern spruce lumber market, it was not due to a lack of demand but rather having less material available from the mills and higher prices, especially from distributors. Both had their effect on quelling more transactions. The overall week for orders though was one of the better ones of the year so far. It was also a turnaround week with firmer prices and slight increases on some items. Mill shipments pushed through next week with most only able to do the week after.
