Demand and activity strengthened on the heels of Monday’s strong showing in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The eastern mills were quick to sell, raise prices and sell more as the day progressed. Buyers concentrated on them, putting together what orders they could, despite higher prices. They were still the cheaper option in the market compared to the reloads. Buyers had little time to think, needing to act quickly because once an item sold at a particular mill, it was not necessarily available again even if you waited on delivery and were willing to pay more for it.
