Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The eastern spruce lumber market started the week on a very strong note yesterday. Heavy demand sparked a healthy round of buying at higher prices than where they traded at last week. The mix of orders were supplied heavily from wholesale and distributor positions with the mills adding what they could. The eastern mills had material, and some could deliver next week but they were limited on the depth and variety that was sought after. One mill had this and the other had that, but many lacked all. Left with few choices, buyers went after what they could from them.
