Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Finding material from the mills was a top priority and quite challenging for buyers in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. What little that was found sold quickly. Some went back-to-back while others were purchased to sell after some price appreciation. Once bought, replacement was difficult to find. The Canadian market was very active giving the Canadian mills leverage to ask for higher prices in the States. The lack of supply in the market slowed sales on the day, but there was enough available allowing traders in having a productive and successful day overall.
