It was quieter with less activity and fewer transactions in the eastern spruce lumber market on Friday. Prices appreciated last week, but at a slower rate than in the last couple of weeks, allowing for easier digestion of the higher levels. Dealers remain busy, keeping them close to the market and replenishing inventories more often, especially from the reloads. The eastern mills had some products to sell, but they were selective in nature. There was also little consistency among them as to what was available and the prices they were seeking, putting added pressure on the reloads to supply needs.
