Demand was strong to start the week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. There was a lot more interest and participation from many concerns in what was available and what could be bought, either from the mills or from the inventories that distributors were motivated to sell. The price differences seen on various items in the marketplace inspired buyers to react and helped in the large volume of orders transacted. The heavy rains experienced lately in the Northeast has created delays on various fronts from logistics to jobsites, impacting several concerns from mills to dealers.
