Strong demand continued to spark activity and orders in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The mills worked at selling what little they had to offer while distributors kept their focus on what they had the most of. Available products from the eastern mills were few and selective as several prepare for their annual summer shutdowns. There were some that quoted deliveries for mid-August, for when they returned with production. What was highly sought after was 2x4 in all species as the mills have shied away from producing much of it lately, focusing more on the wider widths.
