Although sales increased in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday, putting together orders was more difficult. Persistent traders worked hard to attain results. Many dealers were content on what they had and were not easily swayed to buy more. Distributor reloads were the key to many transactions. There were isolated deals that sprung up from the eastern mills that could ship next week but they were highly specified and would not necessarily be a fit for most clients. Prices appreciated slightly throughout the week on all items with 10’ and shorter stud lengths more highly in demand.
