Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The eastern mills struggled to find sales on the items they had available in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was weak and prices were soft affecting the volume of orders transacted. Speculation was off the table. Any accumulations the mills did have generated little interest. Counters that were presented on them were too steep to warrant consideration. Much of the business that was done was relegated to the reloads for highly specified tallies and quick turnaround. Even though confidence in the market is down, dealers remain busy with strong demand and commitments on their end.
