With a full slate of traders back and involved in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday, activity and sales picked up. Discovery was the key, seeing what was available and where prices were. There was a wide disparity among the mills on both, keeping buyers on their toes. Transactions flowed but the potential for better volume was thwarted by the uncertainty of prices. Counters were given with selling philosophies dictating the outcomes. Some items were more vulnerable than others. Pushback by the mills was strong as they did their best not to be deterred by the mood of the market.
