Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Sales improved in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday, but a dichotomy existed. On the one hand there was a sense that there was not enough lumber in the marketplace to feed the evident demand, while on the other hand there was more than enough. The eastern mills did not show a glut of supply, but many felt there was more than enough to come. It affected the psyches of traders and eroded confidences. The eastern mills though were more resilient to lowering prices too much, denting the expectations and aspirations of buyers wanting more.
