Last Thursday’s hectic sales day carried over on Friday making it a good day for orders in the spruce lumber market. There would have been more transactions if there was additional lumber available from the eastern mills to trade with. Most had their allotments spent after a busy week of selling. Although published prices were down across the board on Friday, there was a firmness and difference in prices that encompassed the market late in the week. Buyers will be anxious to see what the eastern mills will have today and what prices they will be asking, hoping to capitalize quickly on any opportunities that are presented.
