Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was a hurry up and wait attitude much of the day in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Dealers could not get off the fence and commit, frustrating traders. They were not interested in paying current prices to get what they wanted or needed and were willing to wait out the market. This changed late in the day as some woke up, sparking a flurry of orders, much of which was done below current market numbers. This instilled hope and generated confidence in traders that there is good business to be had and that all was not as quiet as it may have seemed earlier in the day.
