Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand and activity remained on solid ground in the spruce lumber market yesterday. The eastern mills were busy selling all day a variety of items over a wide expanse of the country. An important key was that they worked diligently to building an order file, raising prices only slightly where warranted. Dealers, manufacturers, and distributors were also more confident to making purchases as prices continued to be at their lower range of the year. Add to this that a historically busy time of the year for construction is close at hand, supporting decisions to making sure that upcoming needs are well covered.
