Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Sales continued to increase in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was seen and felt growing in many areas. Orders flowed at a steady clip not only for the mills but through distribution as well. The mills maintained their philosophy of selling what they had, without raising prices too high and too quickly, preferring to build on their order files and not fall victim or be dependent on the market. Hungry buyers not only bought to cover needs, but with the allowance of time, added some speculative buys as well, confident that prices would appreciate further.
