Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Although activity diminished last Friday in the eastern spruce lumber market, there was a fair number of orders transacted. The eastern mills had success in selling some of the accumulations they had developed. Strong sales throughout the week had most of them off the market on many other items on Friday, allowing them to assess their inventories and evaluate production schedules to see what they could offer out this week. Prices firmed up with slight increases on several items. Distributors turned more defensive and protective of their inventories.
