Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Activity in the eastern spruce lumber market was deceiving yesterday. It seemed and felt quiet with little demand during the day but under the surface there were many things percolating, that turned into orders. It was a solid end to the day with a high volume of orders transacted. There was also a fair amount of digestion that took place with higher prices slowly taking hold. The eastern mills were not as busy as they have been recently but then again, they did not stop selling last week and instead built up an order file to weather the quietness they have seen so far this week.
