Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was a steady grind to business in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. There was not as much product available from the mills, lowering the volume of orders transacted. Buyers had to look more extensively for what they needed. Several mills went off the market, sooner than expected, as they did not have as much product to start the week with as they have had previously. The mills with product though were quicker to raise prices on what they had, knowing they had a solid base of committed orders to work from. Mill shipments pushed into mid-September.
