Better demand increased the volume of orders transacted in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The mills benefitted the most as their competitive pricing and ability to deliver quickly enabled sales. There was conflict in prices heard in the marketplace causing distractions but traders that rose above the noise were more successful in putting orders together. A noticeable imbalance started to take shape between supply and demand as need began outstripping viable production. Also, some items that had been losing value as of late firmed up while in demand items continued to see support at higher numbers.
