There was a let up in sales in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Activity remained strong but some emphasis turned to chasing down shipments and caring for situations, distracting traders wanting to get orders. There also seemed to be an air of desperation by some in trying to generate business, creating conflict. But as one sales professional quoted “you had to remind people that it was September 7th and not December 7th”. Mill supply remains tight and there is good takeaway on many levels. The busy time of the year for construction is also upon us. What other reasons does one need to have confidence in the market.
