There was a fair amount of business transacted yesterday to start the week in the eastern spruce lumber market, though it was difficult trading. Salespeople had to roll up their sleeves to seek out demand and find the orders. They were not coming in on a silver platter. There was a general softness in prices felt in the marketplace which made it difficult to pinpoint levels to trade at. The eastern mills each had their list of items to sell and made strides to make this known. Clients threw out opportunistic numbers to buy at, but seller perseverance, patience and determination proved to get them better results.
