Strong demand and activity continued to produce a steady flow of orders in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Distributors were the major benefactors of them as they were more aggressive than the mills with prices. They were also flexible in setting up timely and scheduled deliveries wanted by clients. It was harder for the mills to control their shipments, wanting to ship material they had on the ground quickly, yet at times lacking the equipment to do so. Good weather played its role in boosting spirits, adding to the excitement and enthusiasm seen among many in the marketplace yesterday.
