Sales yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market were not as robust as the day’s prior stellar performance. Activity remained strong with the volume of orders better than most previous days this month. The eastern mills found levels to trade at. They received solid support on some items and went off the market on them. Other items remained negotiable but only to a certain extent. Dealers had little fear that supply would tighten up. It was more important for them to keep inventories in check. Eastern mill production remains consistent with no news of disruptions for the moment.
