Demand was strong to start the week and month in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Inquiry was abundant but overall sales were not as robust as expected. There was difficulty sourcing some of the items quoted as some of them were not as readily available. Items that were, did not attract much attention or firm offers. Negativity was apparent, influencing mindsets and keeping traders off balance. Buyers were hesitant. Despite these rumblings, there was solid business transacted, exemplifying an underlining need that had and wanted to get covered.
