Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was solid demand in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The mills often started their quotes with slightly lower numbers and then negotiated if necessary. How much more they were willing to give was contingent on the item and the situation. Distributors continued to be aggressive also with their quotes, not wanting to lose sight of the market. They were more willing to go after the business when given the opportunity to do so. Activity was vibrant throughout the day with orders over a wide variety of products, although some mill accumulations saw little interest.
