Activity was strong with a high volume of orders transacted to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. The reloads benefitted the most and were the basis for much of the business although buyers vigorously attempted to get the eastern mills to participate more. The mills though were not interested in lowering their prices further to take the additional orders presented. Many had done what was necessary previously to take the pressure off selling their accumulations and get them through this week. Most now have shipments that are into next week and beyond.
