Activity was mixed to start the week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was steady but orders were difficult to draw out of clients. It seemed they could buy a little cheaper elsewhere on several occasions. Many also voiced they had enough inventory to care for the business at hand. With prices drifting, there was little pressure to step in and buy right away. The eastern mills had a hard time finding sales on the things they wanted to sell but did not have enough of the items they were called upon to furnish or their prices were too high to invoke interest.
