Additional supply from the mills kept pressure on prices to go lower in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Although activity and the flow of orders remained constant, the extra boost needed from demand was not there to stem the tide. Dealers kept replenishing only as needed and not buying anything extra. Inventories at various reloads were more than adequate to care for the quick needs that clients had. The eastern mills saw little back-to-back business unless counters were involved. They struggled to find items to produce that would be profitable for them to sell.
