There was strong activity with high energy displayed in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Buyers went after the items they wanted and needed, knowing they were willing to pay fair market prices for them, even though they may have paid less recently on them. The eastern mills were encouraged by the business they got and not having to accept counters to do so. They worked on building an order file but stopped short of selling anything they did not have available. They were willing to let the market run its due course and possibly achieve higher prices.
