Activity heated up in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand strengthened as buyers scrambled to find and secure any viable product to trade with, finding little of what was needed or wanted. Prices were climbing and available product was getting scarce. Dealers that have been waiting on the sidelines climbed back into the market wanting to cover upcoming commitments. There was some hesitation as things were moving too quickly. Shipments from the eastern mills were into the last week of the month. Getting product from them before turkey would be unlikely, putting the reloads in the spotlight.
